Preparing for Bad Weather

Since I have all of the major things covered for being prepared in the chance of a hurricane, I was thinking about other things that aren’t so related to cautiousness that comes with a storm. As I peered out my living room {the one we use}, I saw the lone pair of hydrangeas that have just bloomed.

Since we have been here this month, the hydrangea plants have not produced as well as I would have hoped. I’m aware that the heat is not their friend though. If you don’t know me that well, I adore hydrangeas in all colors, and we actually have a yard with a decent amount of hydrangea bushes. My ultimate dream would be to have bushes in all colors, but I’m not in tune with all of the soil ph and alkalinity or whatever it is that controls that.

Long story short, I ventured out into the backyard and saved my hydrangea blooms from the wind, rain, and whatever else that we’re going to get tonight and tomorrow. I should at least have one pretty thing left from our yard {especially since it is lacking a good bit in the organized landscaping department}.

School is out tomorrow, which means we’ll be making up a day during our already limited holidays {the day before Thanksgiving}. While I don’t wish terrible weather on us, it better not be all sunshine and roses tomorrow since we have now lost an off day in a particularly needed time. I pray that all in our area remain safe and sound though. I certainly don’t want to see damaging winds or anything of the sort.
