A Must See

At school today, the Kindergarteners and the First Grade had the opportunity to go to St. Maurice's Catholic Church in our town to watch The Three Billy Goats Gruff that was performed by the Birmingham Children's Theatre.

It was certainly worth our time, and I have to say it is definitely enjoyable for children and adults. If you're looking for an excellent family activity, this just might be the thing to be interested in.

There were only four actors and actresses, and the scenery was very limited, BUT the performance was amazing. There was not one time the children weren't paying attention.

The best thing about the whole deal was how interactive they were with the children. Who knew The Three Billy Goats Gruff could be funny????

It was hilarious and very entertaining.

The price per ticket is very cheap. Children are $8, and adults are $10.

Hare Today, Goon Tomorrow

As most of you know, I am doing my student teaching to complete my degree and become an elementary school teacher. Each day we read a story to the children, so the students can:

A) Hear fluent reading being modeled

B) Cool down from P.E. class

C) Just enjoy a good book

Today when I went to pick a story, I chose this book:

Little Rabbit Foo Foo

Yes...there is a song that is the same thing. Basically, they just turned it into a book. It's too cute though. If you want the song, follow this link.

But then he finds some field mice and is bopping them on the head! 

Unfortunately for him, this does NOT make the Good Fairy Happy.

So...she gives him three chances. If he doesn't change his attitude, she's going to turn him into a GOON!

That doesn't stop Little Rabbit Foo Foo though...

Chance One: Wriggly Worms

Chance Two: Tigers

Chance Three: The Goblins

That was all it took to tick the Good Fairy off.

Pay close attention to the hilarious illustration in the next photo.

Doesn't it just crack you up that the Good Fairy is hangin from the tree by the umbrella just getting ready to smack him on the head.

Unfortunate things happen for Little Rabbit Foo Foo...

You might be surprised to know there is a moral to the story...

I hope you thought this was as funny as I did! It's a great story for kids. Mine at school absolutely adored it today. They find it funny, too!

Made My Day

I've been anxiously waiting since Sunday to see the photos that resulted from our engagement photo session that was all thanks to our wonderful and talented photographer, Julie Cottrell.

Let me tell you folks, she is great!

Friendly, talented, creative....just what you need in a photographer.

We actually did a photo session on Saturday, too, that consisted of everything bridal. That was so much fun, but I can't post those pictures until after the wedding. I don't need some loving, and caring nosy fiance trying to figure out what my dress looks like. That would spoil the fun! 

Okay...so I'll quit drawing it out. Here are my absolute favorites!

This is most certainly one of my very favorites. Then again though, the next one is, too. And the next one. Uh oh...I think I'm in trouble.

There's that smile I love out of him!

Colby and Brenna sittin' in a tree, K-I-S-S-I-N-G. First comes love. Then, comes marriage. Then comes, Brenna pushing a baby carriage shopping cart.

{Baby talk is not entering the blog just yet...lol}

On a side note, the above picture is taken at what all of the "Brewton folks" call "the boardwalk." We have a new cafe located there called the {very original} Boardwalk Cafe {hoping the link works}. It is tasty ya'll. Friday nights they have a wonderful special. The owners of the place are simply wonderful. I know them from teaching their daughter at school. Try it out some time whether you live in Brewton or live out of town.

Now...let me continue on.

Above picture is taken conveniently where I will put in my first job application to be a "real" teacher. How funny is that!
