Slugs and Snails and Puppy-Dogs’ Tails

That’s what little boys are made of!

I’m so excited about our newest addition, and he hasn’t even made it here yet! It seems like everyone we know that is having babies around the same time we are are all having boys. I feel sure that I have many days ahead of me that include camping out and fishing, and I can’t wait!

Ever since Colby and I have been together, I could see myself having a boy first. When I first found out I was pregnant, I immediately thought “boy”. Then, as it got closer to time, I had multiple dreams that it was going to be a boy and didn’t expect anything else. Everyone always asked my opinion, and I always told them “boy” and that I would be shocked if he turned out to be a she when we got the ultrasound done.

When we first arrived, the girl doing the ultrasound was super sweet and confirmed that we were their to find out what we were having. It didn’t take long to find out either. It was like as soon as she put the thing on my belly, she was able to tell us that we were going to be seeing a lot of blue in our future. He was proud of his business and wasn’t afraid to show it….haha!

BABY BOY US _2

Everything became much more real that day! My love for this baby grew ten times stronger, and I can’t wait for the day when I can hold him in my arms. I’m not sure what I’m going to do when he gets here other than love him with my whole heart. I know absolutely nothing about little baby boys. I’m from a family full of basically girls, but I guess it will be a good learning experience!

So, all of you mamas of boys or recent mamas with advice, here’s your time to spill your insight on life with babies! Spill your beans!

  1. Ok....first of all, I have NO FREAKING IDEA how I missed those last couple of posts! But better late than never....CONGRATULATIONS!!!!! I am so excited for you and can't believe you're already halfway through your pregnancy!!! And how exciting that you're having a boy!! I know I'm bias, but I will tell you this about boys....they LOVE their mommas. Don't get me wrong, they love daddy's too, but when they get hurt or just need to be held in general, no one cures it like momma. And it is such a precious thing. You are the woman that he will model all of his future girlfriends after and eventually dump because they are nowhere as good as you are. You will be such a great mom Brenna. I can't wait to see more about your pregnancy!!! Please update me on everything you've been going through!!!

  2. One more thing, since you asked for insight on mom's with boys, the only real difference between a girl and boy newborn is the circumcision. If you choose to do it, you will have to help it heal for about a week. Stock up on vaseline but I HIGHLY suggest not buying just a tub of vaseline that you'll use a Q-tip to put it on the wound because trust me when I say that it won't be that easy. You really need to get the squeeze tube of vaseline because it goes on MUCH smoother and is significantly quicker. FYI. I seriously have so many boy tips...I just need to organize my thoughts!!

  3. It's the temperature of your house. Think about that for a second, what temperature does your house usually hover around during the winter? How about the summer? animals

  4. It is not just about that perfect parcel of land you want to use, the type of fencing you will install or the unique sign you want to place at the entrance. Before you do anything, learn about your market, learn dogs and the people who own them. All dogs big and small Dan
